Description
Sylvia Schramms work group GRAPHICS is about the connections between art and fashion. René Magritte’s “Man with Melon” from 1964, inspired her to create this work. For the surrealist painter, this composition had no specific message. It shows a man in a conservative outfit with a bowler on his head and a dove in front of his non-existent face. Schramm was interested in the question of what the direct opposite might look like? A woman in a fashionable outfit with a dove application on it, no head, but the hat in her hand…surrealistic – no specific statement!
The work group GRAPHICS contains 10 motifs and has been published as a limited edition of 30 pieces each, numbered and personally signed by the artist,. There are 2 sizes per motif to choose from and the frame colours can also be changed among each other as desired.
