Description
Fashion is hardly imaginable without photography. Photo shoots in which a perfect staging lifts the image of the fashion label, whether couture or mass-produced, is a huge industry.
In this work, the artist is interested in transforming the depicted as such from a photo into a “painting”, moving the subject away from the figurative to an abstract play of colors. Painterly elements mix with graphic dots and lines and are partially doused with synthetic resin. As a result, these surfaces begin to glow metallically and become plastic. The viewer recognizes only from a distance a silhouette that shows the fashion designer and photographer Karl Lagerfeld.
