Description
Sylvia Schramm also sees a connection between art and fashion in this work. Wearing a piece of clothing in such a way that it almost becomes a sculptural figure has to do with the attitude of the person wearing it. Grace Kelly embodied such a graceful appearance and was considered a fashion icon for that reason as well. As Princess of Monaco, she had to maintain this attitude at the side of her husband, Prince Rainier, even if she was obviously not always amused about it.
With the arrangement of geometric lines around the figures, the viewer looks at the couple as if through a telescope lens. What appears glamorous to society is in fact a “golden cage”.
The coexistence of the reflective metal with the matte paint application creates a play of light. The azure color in the motif corresponds with and the blue acrylic frame.
The works series GRAPHICS includes 10 motifs, is numbered as a limited edition of 30 pieces each and signed by the artist personally. There are 2 sizes selectable per motif.
